Why We’re Offering Free Splash Days at the Farm This Summer

If you’ve spent a morning here at the farm during one of our Splash Days, you already know: there’s something kind of magical about it.
We started these gatherings simply—as a way to invite families with young kids to enjoy a little safe, screen-free summer fun. But over the past few weeks, we’ve watched something even more meaningful unfold. Toddlers giggling in kiddie pools, parents chatting under the trees, and families—many who had never met before—coming together in the most natural, peaceful way.
So we’ve decided to offer Free Splash Days every Friday through the rest of June, all of July, and August. Because in a world that often feels heavy, gathering like this has been a grounding reminder of what really matters.

To be honest, this summer hasn’t been without its stress. As many of you know, we’ve been working hard to protect our land and community from a proposed auto auction development next door. It’s brought a wave of uncertainty to our family and to so many of our neighbors who love this quiet corner of South Jersey.
But these Fridays? They’ve reminded us of why we fight to preserve this space.
There’s a kind of peace here that doesn’t ask for much—just a patch of shade, a splash pad, and the sound of kids being kids. And that peace doesn’t just nourish our family. We’ve seen it touch others too.

We know our farm isn’t perfect. If you’ve ever visited and met me or my kids, you know there’s always a project in progress, tools lying around, and no shortage of mud or mess. It’s not Pinterest-perfect, and it probably never will be. But what it is—what it always will be—is real. Every inch of this place has been built with our own hands, and every fence post and flower bed carries the weight of our blood, sweat, and tears.
This is our home. And we’re so grateful for every person who sees the heart behind what we’re building, and who embraces us—flaws and all.
Whether you come out every week or it’s your first time visiting, know that this farm is a place where you and your little ones can show up exactly as you are. No admission, no pressure. Just a welcome space to cool off, make a friend, and let your kids be free.
We’re honored to share this space with you. And no matter what the next six months or year may bring, we’ll continue doing what we can to hold space for peace, play, and community.
We hope to see you at a Splash Day soon.
With love and muddy footprints,
The Freshcoln Family
